TO: CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF LOS FRESNOS

FROM: MAYOR POLO NARVAEZ

SUBJECT: DROUGHT CONTINGENCY PLAN - STAGE 2 - MILD WATER SHORTAGE CONDITIONS

When the level of the U.S. water stored in the Amistad and Falcom Reservoirs reaches 40% this triggers Stage 2 of the City of Los Fresnos Drought Contingency Plan.

Starting on March 1, 2013 the following Drought Contingency Plan will be Implemented.

1. Land irrigation will be premitted from 7:00p.m. through 9:00am and designated watering days.

MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY- even numberd street addresses ending in 0,2,4,6,or 8.

TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY- odd numbered street addresses ending in 1,3,5,7,or 9.

2. Use of water to wash any motor vehicle, truck, trailers, boats, airplane and other mobile equipment will be prohibited except except of the landscape watering days described above.

3. Water use for non-essential purpoeses is prohibited.

Any person who violates this plan is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).  Each day that one or more of the provisions in this Plan is violated shall constitute a separate offense.

Stage 2 of the Drought Contingency Plan may be recended when the conditions listed above have ceased to exist for a perios of three (3) consecutive days.
